It’s a good week for free mixtapes. After Asher Roth dropped his foodie mix Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry, San Fransisco’s wait what decided to mash up Biggie Smalls with beloved indie band du jour The XX and titled it The Notorious XX. As he explains, “the notorious xx began as an idea in my sister’s apartment, where I was trying to figure out what it would sound like hearing juicy over vcr, and since then expanded to include all 11 tracks of the xx’s debut album chopped, sliced, and mashed up with biggie’s vocals.” Sounds solid.
