The idea of mixing honey with whiskey seems vomit-inducing at best, barbaric at worst. Somehow the marketing team over at Seagram’s 7 thinks differently, as they’ve just launched their 70 proof Dark Honey spirit. I’m pretty sure I’m not their target demo, however — I’m thinking this stuff is squarely aimed at the sorority girls of the world who have yet to acquire a taste for the dark liquor goodness that is true whiskey. Either that or, like the Beefeater 24 Gin we reviewed last autumn, it will open up a whole new world of cocktail options as a slightly varied alternative to straight whiskey.
