Japan’s Tokyobikes just launched their first pop-up store in London, and although they may be confused about where they come from, they certainly have a straight head when it comes to design. Available in 5 different styles depending on need (Classic, Bisou, Sport, Promenade and of course Single Speed), all Tokyobikes have compact, straight handlebars which allow for the rider to maintain an upright posture — enabling greater control and command over the bike. The lightweight 10 Kg bikes’ frames are built with a Cr-Mo steel, which is stronger than traditional aluminum bicycles and lends a more comfortable ride, as do the finer profile 650mm wheels. Tokyobikes come in a variety of styles and colors, and range in price from $640-$740.
