Audi's 5-cylinder coupe gets the RS treatment

It was announced today that Audi has finally decided to bring the RS version of its TT coupe to America. All rejoice! While the RS badge has made brief and rare leaps across the pond to US shores, Audi enthusiasts usually beg for the high performance version of their favorite cars. The 420 horsepower RS4 was a legend, and the RS6 was a myth — arguably the most beautiful A6 ever made. To test the marketing waters, Audi launched a Bring it to the U.S. Facebook petition which gathered 11,500+ signatures in just one month, and that was enough to push Audi to commit to US distribution. The Audi TT RS boasts a 0-62 mph time of 4.6 seconds, plenty of performance from its 5-cylinder 360 horsepower turbocharged 2.5L engine, and should hit US dealerships by 3rd quarter of 2011.

  2. This sounds pretty exciting. Reminds me of the time when I went on a trip with my wife and we’ve had a very similar experience.
