Extravagant in flavor, packaging and pricetag

We’ve waxed eloquent before about our love for Highland Park (its Orcadian Vintage Series and Earl Magnus Edition 1 Scotch), as it’s one of the favorite single malt scotches poured at The Meadows. It is truly an exceptional whisky, and consistently scores awards along with the best. Distilled in the Orkney Islands, Highland Park is the most northerly scotch in the world, which many believe lend the spirit its unique, understated flavor. Well Highland Park is done with being understated, and have released an expression that is bold in taste, packaging and — at nearly $17,000 (£10,500) a bottle — price. Highland Park 50 Year Old scotch whisky comes presented in a sterling silver-encased hand made bottle, the precious metal woven around the dark caramel precious goodness inside like a web. And that unique bottle itself is packaged in a beautifully hand-carved oak box, featuring a sterling silver porthole from which one can catch a quick peek at the coveted opulent bottle contained there within. Only 275 such bottles of this extremely exclusive expression will be made, all selected from 5 oak casks distilled in 1960.
