Lambo flogs its best selling supercar for one more "special" edition

With only one month to go before Lamborghini unveils the highly anticipated V12 replacement for its halo Murciélago supercar at the Geneva Motor Show, Automobili Lamborghini announces one more Special Edition of its V10 Gallardo, the LP 560-4 Bicolore. Seeing as the Italian manufacturer only has 2 models, the boys at Sant’Agata are accustomed to flogging the Gallardo with “limited edition” models that are little more than cosmetic makeovers to keep the press coming (with the exception of the rear-wheel drive Balboni [read our fear-filled testdrive HERE] and the carbon fiber-enhanced Superleggera edition). This Bicolore qualifies as such, as its V10 remains the same superb powerhouse — a 560 hp engine that powers the car from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds to a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h). As for looks, as its name implies this special series features an exclusive two-tone finish with matching interior: from the window-line upwards the vehicle is decorated in Noctis Black — a deep pastel black that contrasts sharply with the lower area of the body, available in a choice of five colors (Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Bianco Monocerus and Blu Caelum). The exterior appearance is enhanced by Skorpius aluminum-alloy rims with 15 thin spokes finished in titanium gray enamel. Altogether, the package offers Lambo’s best selling supercar of all time (10,000 sold and counting) a new, more aggressive personality.
