How to be lazy even while skiing
The concept behind the Skizee is simple: a motorized tank-like tread that pushes you in the snow, making a once incredibly healthy aerobic exercise into a Segway-like whizz through the snow. Although to be fair, cross-country skiing with a giant engine attached to your back seems like a wicked, wicked good time. Its low-emission four-stroke 10.5 horsepower engine will make skiing uphill feel like a double black diamond descent of glory. At $2,500, however, I’m not sure the pricetag equals the thrills.
Thought I would respond to the comment “making a once incredibly healthy aerobic exercise into a Segway-like whizz through the snow”
Unlike the Segway that you ride on, the Skizee still allows the rider to exert the effort normally exerted while skiing. If anyone thinks this is not a workout or a form of exercise then come to Kimberley BC and take a prototype for a test drive. As a machinist on this project I have been involved in testing the Skizee, and its a workout, so for the lazy we think not.
Cheers Adrian
