But if you’re looking for something a bit off the beaten path, then you may want to investigate German coachbuild manufacturer Weismann who are aiming to ramp into production this Spyder Concept above. Consider what you get: a BMW M3-sourced V8 4.0 liter engine, the same one that churns out 414 bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Except instead of the car weighing 3,700 lbs, it weighs 2,200. That means the power-to-weight ratio improving from 8.8 pounds-per-horsepower to 5.3 pounds per horsepower — truly off the charts, even for the best supercars. That’s sort of like a catapult, except with better braking. So what you get is a lot… or is it? Well, you also don’t get a lot of things you might be accustomed to getting, luxuries like doors. Or a roof. Or really a windshield — nevermind radio, air conditioning, sat-nav…well, you get the idea. But with a 0-62 mph time of under 4 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph, who gives a damn about a radio. Just remember to buy some goggles, or there’ll be a lot of tears streaming into your smile…
