Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels label has been making some waves these past twelve months. An uncompromising vision for the future of house and techno has the label breaking acts left, right and center, and infusing some serious fun into a musical blueprint that regularly leaves dancefloors bouncing till dawn. Full length album releases from Art Department, Deniz Kurtel and Maceo Plex have helped propel the label to the forefront of the underground heap in the last year. So it’s cool to see LA transplant Lazarus bringing his notorious Get Lost party to Hollywood for a serious hoedown (see the video to the Miami party below for a taste). Doubly so when the party celebrates the launch of Lazarus’ excellent Get Lost mix CD. The Rebels are bringing Art Department and Deniz Kurtel (who we interviewed HERE) for live performances, the Detroit quartet Visionquest (including notorious party starter Seth Troxler) for an LA debut and local party starters Droog, plus special guests, to the Music Box this Saturday, August 27th. With Lazarus taking to the decks as well, and Flaunt Magazine hosting the upstairs terrace, it should be a hell of a bash.
