The latest iteration of Mr. Jones “Last Laugh” watch is the Tattoo Special Edition featuring the artwork of UK tattoo artist Adrian Willard. Started in 2007 by London-based designer Crispin Jones, Mr. Jones specializes in creative timepieces with memorable graphics (e.g. his Cyclops watch) and the latest “Last Laugh” is no exception, implementing a clever time-telling design which sees the skull’s top teeth show the hour while the bottom teeth show the minutes. The watch is a nod to the concept of a memento mori, an object designed to remind us that life is brief and we should seize the moment while we’re here — an idea we last saw captured in watch format with the $59,000 Memento Mori, Carpe Diem! watch. “Skulls have always been a very popular subject in tattooing, a part of the rebel culture that it once represented,” explains Willard on why he uses the sugar-skull design for the watch face. “These days tattooing is quite mainstream but the skull remains the classic image.” Pick up the”Last Laugh” Tattoo Special Edition at Watchismo for only $200.
