Belgium-born artist Geert Goiris captures the emptiness and indelible essence of the natural world in his truly breathtaking Resonance series. The quietly beautiful still life and nature photographs that comprise the series are mostly devoid of humans — but not of life. The photographs contain nothing exciting: empty landscapes, a circle of green chairs, architectural structures, otherworldly buildings. Yet Goiris manages to present a captivating image within the ordinary, exposing sharp color contrasts to explore the significance of the space. The composition and the defined lines draw the viewer’s eyes to the sublime simplicity of each piece, no matter how poignantly lonely they may be. See more from the Antwerp-based photographer here.
