95 proof, 8-year-old premium whiskey from Kentucky

Let’s be honest — when you’re looking to knock back a fine glass of sipping bourbon, you may reach for the Woodford Reserve, Basil Hayden’s or Booker’s. Heck, even Maker’s Mark will do in a pinch. But it’s quite likely you only think of Jim Beam when the words “shot”, “Coke” or “flask” are involved. Jim Beam aims to change that with their “1795” expression, named so for the Kentucky whiskey’s birthday. The premium 8-year-old bourbon notches in at 95 proof and comes in a high-clarity flint glass bottle, all packaged in a handsome black box. Find a bottle for about $200.
