The venerable French automaker heats up their line-up
Known mostly across the pond for their highly efficient compact cars and hatchbacks, French automaker Peugeot is trying to heat up their profile with a new supercar concept car aimed straight at the lust glands. The mid-engined, rear-wheel drive Onyx is powered by a potent 600 horsepower 3.7 litre V8 engine, mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. Augmenting the ICE are electric motors powered by lithium-ion batteries, which themselves are charged via regenerative braking that boost power by another 80 horses. Impressive. More details are coming as the sleek, low-slung Peugeot Onyx Supercar Concept will make its official world debut this month at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
