At the Intermot International Motorcycle Show in Cologne, Germany, Ducati began showing off several new bikes from its 2013 line-up. First off was the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Ducati’s naked bike iconoclast, the Monster. The new Monster Anniversary (below) will be available in the original livery of the very first version, and will be applied to the whole range of latest-generation Monsters (696, 796 and 1100EVO models). Next is the RS13 Superbike version of Ducati’s halo streetbike the 1199 Panigale, the bike set to be used in the 2013 Superbike World Championship. Also unveiled is the street version of the 1199 Panigale in a new Arctic White model, as well as the 848EVO Corse Special Edition with a lightweight aluminum fuel tank, dressed in Ducati’s new Corse Test Team livery of matte black and grey (seen above). Several new colorways for the Diavel (Diavel Carbon and the Diavel Dark) were shown, as well as the full range of Multistrada 1200 with the introduction of the revolutionary Ducati Skyhook Suspension system and a new and improved Testastretta 11° DS engine. This all comes after a milestone 2011 for Ducati, which not only saw a record breaking year in sales but also saw the venerable Italian motorcycle manufacturer purchased by the Audi/Volkswagen group — breathing new life into the debt-riddled company. “Ducati has entered a new era,” said Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati. “Being part of such a prominent and significant group as Volkswagen makes us look to the future with confidence and optimism and we are very happy to be here at Intermot with so many new products to present.”
