The Sunset Strip's Roxy Theater kicks off the 20th Anniversary of hip-hop's most beloved party album

In our humble opinion, there is no better hip-hop party album ever recorded than the Pharcyde’s stellacular Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde. It is pure celebration in sonic form (oh how many brain cells we’ve happily surrendered to “Oh Shit”). In honor of The Pharcyde’s groundbreaking 1992 debut, (which, by the way, was quoted as Kanye West’s favorite album of all time), home label Delicious Vinyl has teamed up with former group members Fatlip and Slimkid3 — and Bizarre Ride producers J-Sw!ft and L.A. Jay — to give fans the Bizarre Ride Live experience (wherefore art thou Imani and Bootie Brown?). To commemorate Bizarre Ride‘s 20th Anniversary, the show will include a series of performances covering the entire 1992 album (yes, the 90s were really two decades ago, SMH). Having recently completed their tour of Japan, Pharcyde has just announced a series of shows across Europe and the US. This Saturday (December 29), kicking off in Los Angeles, the show will take place at the world famous Roxy Theater on the Sunset Strip. Expect nothing less than bright Cross Colours sweaters, b-boy throwdowns, crazy visuals, energetic raps and everything else that hybridizes pure hip-hop with theatrical performance. And on top of all thatttttttttt this Bizarre Ride Live experience will be complimented by appearances Overdoz, Polyester the Saint, Kid Named Breezy, Quelle Chris, Cazal Organism & The Zzyzzx. Attendees are welcome to grab the mic with Mandy Mayhem’s Hip-Hop Karaoke, and in the spirit of a recently-passed Christmas, a portion of all ticket sales will benefit the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center. Pre-sale tickets are available online and start at $20 for GA and $35 for VIP. If you can’t make it to the performance at The Roxy, hit the jump for succeeding tour dates/locations across America. Still not convinced? Maybe “Ya Mama” can help you out…
