Sometimes shit just has weird timing. Yesterday we posted the amazing How High’s the Water Mama tribute mixtape of De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising debut album, and the day before we posted Rebels Without A Pause: The Induction Celebration of Public Enemy into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame documentary. In the latter we argued that Public Enemy was the second greatest hip-hop group of all time… after the Wu (duh). And now, here we are in Day 3 with a video from De La Soul sampling Wu Tang Clan. And the circle is complete, young padawan. The first sounds off De La Soul’s upcoming album You’re Welcome, “Get Away” samples the RZA intro from “Triumph” off Forever where he eviscerates “Cat in the Hat ass rappers” and “players dressin’ up actin like this some kind of fashion show”. Ha ha! Classic RZA. Remember when Wu was unstoppable? Anywho, peep the new flows from Maseo, Dave and Posdnuos as you await the new album You’re Welcome due this autumn…
