Hey MZA who was that? Ayo the Wu is back! We know we’ve been on a bit of a Wu Tang tear lately, but it seems something is in the zeitgeist demanding a return of the Wu, and the Clan is down to appease the masses. While the last couple Wu albums have been marginal, hope springs eternal that Shaolin’s finest will deliver on what we’ve been waiting for since Forever dropped back in 1997 (sure The W was OK, but not in the same league as previous long plays). Word is the entire Wu-Tang Clan is back in the studio with RZA behind the decks preparing for a fall release — and they’ve dropped the aptly named track “Family Reunion” for the summer BBQ season… and to commemorate the group recording an album on their 20th anniversary. “May the Wu reunion inspire family reunions throughout the world,” sites RZA in typical state of shameless self promotion. While the world waits for the autumn album, The Clan have announced a series of summer concerts — including Bonnaroo later this month (June 14th). Peep the track below, and pick it up if you want to add some sizzle to your very own Family Reunion this summer…
