Paying homage to the halcyon days of Japanimation and The Simpsons of old comes this revival of Katsuhiro Otomo’s cyberpunk manga classic Akira — as cast by the famed characters of Springfield. Thanks to the lovers of comics and the powers of the Internet, Ryan Humphrey‘s brainchild Bartkira became a massive art collaboration led by James Harvey — enough of a cult hit to eventually warrant an actual art space and comic book. After a successful gallery exhibit earlier this month containing the work of a 768 contributing artists, Floating Comics has now put together a graphic novel of the work. The book totals 96 pages, 16 of which are full-color printed, containing selected work from 19 artists. Get a copy for $15.
