Taking you back to the California warehouse sound of the 90s

If you raved in California in the 90s, you danced to the Hardkiss Brothers. Although they blew up in San Francisco, the Hardkiss clan — comprised of Gavin, Scott and Robbie — defined the hippier edge of the California House sound for over a decade. Now their mounting a comeback, galvanized by the release of their new album titled 1991. Out on the newly re-launched Hardkiss Music, the 1991 album features the same funky, psychedelic sound that catalyzed so many warehouse and loft parties way back in the day. To get a sampling of what you can expect, Gavin Hardkiss put together this Romantic Summer 2014 (Part 1) DJ set that will help take you back to those halcyon years. Enjoy on this fine summer weekend! And if you’re looking to delve a little deeper into that era of DJ culture, pick up Gavin’s book Cubic Lust, his very readable memoirs of the era. Pick it up on Amazon for $9.
