True American Spirit(s) distilled in Massachusetts
Gone are the days of a good rum coming from some white-sanded Caribbean island. Now is the time when the cane juice comes straight from the original 13 colonies. Massachusetts-made Privateer Rum is kind of on the Plymouth Rock tip, priding itself as being a “true American rum”. The claim is that the changing seasons make for expanding and retracting barrels that add a flavorful dimension to the aging process. With each batch having its own story of tasting notes, choose from the molasses-fermented True American dark rum, or the double-distilled sugar-cane-crystal born Silver Reserve. Prices in selected stores run at about $34 and $27 respectively.
