As you know, the Madman is in Montreal this week for the POP Festival. Unfortunately, it was a slow one last night to say the least (well, Nick Cave played but I missed that). It’s unfair to say anyone would “win” Day 2, only cos nothing extraordinary happened. I did enjoy legendary proto-electronic artists Silver Apples‘ set, but that was mostly cause it was like watching my grandpa try to program a TiVo. In other words, it was entertaining watching a guy in his 70s twiddle with knobs with a look of profound confusion. (Ok, I’m kinda kidding — it was cool to watch him perform “Oscillator”.)

Also caught The Bug, but that was a bit disappointing cos he was like 40 minutes late but whatever. Let’s hope tomorrow picks up…
