I used to love Justice. Then, after they became the Hardest Working Band In Electro and played LA like 7 times in the course of 3 weeks, I got a bit weary. And then, at whatever festival I happened to hit last summer…guess what? That’s right, more Justice. I just got burned the fuck out. That apparently was just me tho, cos every time they’d come around madness would ensue. Kids would go bonkers. Hysteria. I remember being in Norway for last year’s Øya Festival and looking out at the ocean of blond-haired, blue-eyed Scandinavian teenagers going completely bizzerk. What was it about these 2 swarthy Frenchies? Were they really that dope, or was it a case of naked emperors?
Well, I thought it was the latter until April when I stopped by their tent on the way home from Coachella Sunday night and…well…I’d be a liar if I said they didn’t completely scramble my CPU. Their set was so well-crafted, and so thoughtfully designed, and so dynamic that I found myself dancing and smiling and realizing that the party hadn’t ended.

It was then that I regained my respect for Justice.

In an attempt to capture that magic, they brought along Romain Gavras and So-Me (head designer of their much-hyped Ed Banger label) to record their touring and immortalize the ensuing antics. The result is their new tour documentary, A Cross the Universe, and it’s pretty evident from this trailer what you’re gonna get…and it rhymes with buns and goobs. Lots of ’em.

The DVD and live CD come out November 24th. Just in time to share with your parents for Thanksgiving!!!
