We’ve been big fans of Jim Mahfood even before he rocked our launch party last August. Prior to that we’d collaborated on a 16-page comic book for BPM magazine, and ever since he’s been one of our favorite LA artists. Whether it’s working on Kevin Smith’s Clerks or Marvel’s Spider-Man comic books, doing murals for The Sarah Silverman Show, penning his 40oz. Comics or working on his awesome Ink Stains series (a hilarious biographical living essay of Mahfood’s life), Jim does everything with an inimitable style and humor. As part of Season 2 of the Nakatomi Invitational releases, Mahfood was asked to come up with a tshirt and poster combo for the month of March (tshirt above, poster after the Jump). The poster features a woman riding a killer dolphin…with nunchucks. Yes, a dolphin with nunchucks — what’s there not to like about that? Like all Season 2 Nakatomi Invitational releases, this shirt and poster are only available on Nakatomi during the month of release (in this case March), or when 100 copies are sold, whichever comes first. The shirt is a 100% ringspun cotton tee available in guy’s and girl’s cuts, with custom tags. The poster, Aqua Nunchucks, is a 18″ x 24″ hand-pulled silkscreen print — both DIY made in the Nakatomi garage. Invitational releases ship 2-3 weeks after the sale period has expired. Combo pack available for $40 at Nakatomi.
