I don’t know why, but I’m a pretty big fan of pop-up books. Both that ABC3D book and Popville are legitimate works of art, and when done right they’re their own genre of awesomeness. It appears this Il était une fois book fits the above category, as this trailer for the book hints at. Illustrated by the highly talented Benjamin Lacombe, Il était une fois (or Once Upon a Time) interprets eight classic fairy tales via an ingenious double-page mechanism and some serious artistic merit. Through the Looking Glass (Alice In Wonderland), Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bluebeard, Peter Pan, Little Red Riding Hood, Mrs Butterfly and Thumbelina all vividly illustrated and cleverly executed.
