The San Francisco Seals, an early 20th century minor league baseball team, have been immortalized and commercialized with the help of Golden Bear’s newest Summer 2011 varsity jackets. Named after the team’s stadium that stood at 16th Street and Portrero Avenue from 1931 through 1959, the baseball jackets are manufactured at the Golden Bear Sportswear factory — a building on the very same city block where the cleverly named Left Field used to be. The Varsity Jackets, just like Golden Bear’s Summer Varsity Jackets, are available in four colors (Green, Burgundy, Navy, Cadet Blue) and made from 100% lightweight cotton shell with lightweight poly lining, cowhide leather trim and cotton stripe knit cuff, collar and waistband. Pick one up for $198.
