San Francisco’s Mission Motorcycles have been making their Yves Behar-designed Mission One bike — once the world’s fastest electric production motorcycle — since way back in 2009, and now they announce what they’re calling the world’s most innovative, technologically advanced, zero emissions electric superbikes. Dubbed the Model R and track-ready Model RS, both models are designed, built, and assembled in the USA, and are based on the architecture of Mission Motors’ racebike that won the electric motorcycle’s version of MotoGP — the FIM/TTXGP race at Laguna Seca — back in 2011. The premium-spec street-legal Mission RS will be limited to only 40 bikes, and will retail for $56,499 after a Federal tax credit. Prices for the base Mission R begin at $29,999 after tax credits. As Mission explains:

The production RS comes equipped with Öhlins FGRT forks and BST carbon fiber wheels, with a 140-mile combined cycle range battery. The Mission R will be delivered with Öhlins RT suspension, Brembo monobloc calipers and Marchesini forged aluminum wheels. Unlike the RS, the R is available in three battery packages: 12 kWh, 15 kWh, or 17 kWh with 105 mile, 120 mile, and 140 mile respective combined cycle ranges. Mission Motorcycles promises a power output of 160 horsepower, a 150+ mph top speed and a sub 3-second 0-to-60 acceleration — all while operating completely emission free.
