I had no idea Renzo Rosso, the man behind the Diesel brand, was in the wine and olive oil game. He is and they make a whole range of products, Rosso di Rosso, Bianco di Rosso and Nero di Rosso wines, and olive oil. It’s a little weird to think about, but it doesn’t seem completely nuts given the fact that Diesel is an Italian brand and his estate is located in the Marostica hills near his hometown Bassano (Venice, Italy). Plus, there’s the whole economic factor… one of the first things to be cut from personal budgets are clothing expenses and one of the last things to go is alcohol. Anywho, they just opened the “Diesel Farm” doors to the web (aka the world) and are now starting to sell their limited edition products online. Until yesterday the only chance of you getting your mitts on one of the selections was via a handful of restaurants and retailers. If you’re thinking about becoming a customer the online store lets you customize the wine label with a personalized message. That’s a nice touch. And because people eat up the whole limited edition tag, each of the bottled items are numbered by hand in Bordolese-style bottles. Wine prices range from $150 for Bianco di Rosso to $210 for Rosso di Rosso and the organic olive oil is available at $150 after exchange. And that’s where they loose me…
