Endless inspiration from little plastic blocks

Rock Paper Scissors created this video with directing duo Blue Source to show the inspirational abilities of Legos, and who’s gonna argue? Not only are Legos the greatest toys ever, but they’ve inspired everything from replications of Frank Lloyd Wright masterpieces, great albums and epic moments in history to remakes of the Matrix and scenes […]

French street gymnastics + Singapore flip-book techniques

Brilliant flip book animation by Singapore’s saggyarmpit. Even tho The Office recently joked about Parkour being the “internet sensation of 2004”, her usage of pen and ink and old school flip book style is worth a tip of the hat… parkour motion reel from saggyarmpit on Vimeo.

An acid trip adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland

If you’re a fan of Ralph Steadman and stuff like The Wall and just a fan of drug culture in general, you’ll definitely appreciate this. Talk about an acid trip. It was made back in ’82. There are some screaming vaginas so it’s not the friendliest thing for work.

Madman Mundt’s epic-poem-length review of the most anticipated movie of the year

Anyone who reads this site with any regularity knows that I’ve been anticipating Avatar with my Geek Phaser set on Mutilate. What if Jesus came out as a DJ, wore New Era caps and made real holy water for his crew?

I like the quick mix of Flash animation with real-world graphics…if at least for even a second. Created by the Gobelins, a French animation crew made up of  Rémi Bastie, Jean-Baptiste Cumont, Clément Desnos, Jonathan Djob Nkondo and Nicolas Pegon, I guess you could call this a modern retelling of the parables…only with Technics and […]

440 hours of playing with Legos, and they still avoid getting yelled at by mom

It apparently took 440 hours to film this stop-motion animation Lego interpretation of the infamous “Bullet” scene from the Matrix. The Lego Matrix crew is made up of Trevor Boyd and Steve Ilett — peep their site for a detailed behind-the-scenes look at the production process…nice work…

Like selling cookies, but with less calories

What a cool way to promote Girl Scouts…Ok, Girls Guides of Canada but really what’s the difference. These stop-motion animations are really imaginative — the first is called Different, and was created by Nathan Jurevicius and Andrea Kang. The second is called Explore by Hayley Morris, and you can find that one after the Jump […]

Decorate the office by illuminating the walls

A chap named Büro Hirzberger wanted to spice up the office so he called in Vienna based Strukt and they decided to illuminate the walls. Strukt developed a system to project video and real-time content undistorted onto any surface. The basic idea was to light up the black and white striped office wall by mapping […]
