I love environmentally friendly things. I love beautiful naked women. I love weird things—that are larger-than-life. And right about now I love New York City based photographer Gary Breckheimer. He’s the guy behind this photo. If you’re not familiar with his work, take a few moments and check out his site. His B&W nudes command serious attention and not just because of the women. It helps. If I were a betting man, I’d say it has something to do with the fact that he’s been shooting B&W nudes for well over a decade now while focusing on the juxtaposition of the female form vs. environment/object while doing it. It’s what he does. It’s why this image is so damn amazing.
If you live in NYC you may recognize this big metal flower installation from the streets. Prius is doing it to promote their 3rd generation hybrid. They’re basically places for you to kick back with free Wi-Fi and power to charge your laptop and cell phone. Assuming there’s sun, of course…it is called “Solar Flower”. Which might explain why there’s no one around this thing taking advantage of it. The streets look wet. But still, no one walking around in NYC? Maybe it’ll be differnt in Chicago. Prius is taking there on August 8th to 22nd to Navy Pier. After that it’s Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Wonder who will be the first photographer in one of those towns to copy Gary’s work?
I took this photograph in the middle of a heavy rain storm altho you can’t really tell. So I’m not sure how much solar power there was that day!
