It’s not just Ruby Atelier running the retro helmet craze these days — Bell has just released a replica helmet of the one Steve McQueen wore as part of the US Team in the 1964 International Six-Day Trial (ISDT), when he was a partner with his long time stunt man (and motorcycle legend) Bud Ekins. I guess you could call it a Bud Ekins replica helmet if you wanted to. I love the colors, and I’m basically a sucker for all things McQueen so I’m kind of loving this. The only problem with these retro helmets is they make your head look absolutely gigantic — like a 1950’s alien. Maybe that explains painting a brain on it, makes you look wicked smart.
