Land Rover's Defender SVX gets a boating makeover

German aftermarket giant Brabus has their Danish subsidiary Startech line give a complete cosmetic makeover to Land Rover’s iconic Defender SVX off-road champion. It’s cosmetic because there are no modifications done to the engine or performance, simply some alterations to make it match its Land Rover Defender 90 Yachting Edition moniker. This isn’t the first time Land Rover has courted boating society (they made a yacht-inspired Range Rover concept years ago), but it is the first time it’s been applied to their more rugged Defender line. On the exterior the Defender 90 gets a deep pearl white paint job, fatter tires and custom running boards with integrated entrance lights. The inside is where the magic happens, however, starting with an interior completely swathed in blue leather with contrast stitching — even on its custom steering wheel and Recaro racing seats. The nautical blue and white color scheme is topped off with a luxurious oiled teak floor, which elevates the makeover from simple superficial flair to a quite stunning vehicle. Rounding out the Startech treatment is a high-end sound system calibrated to the Defender interior, featuring an integrated touch screen navigation system.
