Smokey peat-rich scotch is in its name
I’m not a huge fan of Islay scotch, its notorious peatiness is just too smokey for my personal taste. Every time I drink some Laphroaig my mouth feels like I smoked a half dozen Montechristos, and I get mad cottonmouth. Still, I appreciate the honesty behind Bruichladdich’s Peat single malt whisky — it lets you know exactly what to expect (I’ll give you a hint: smokiness). Seeing as it’s Islay scotch it will always be peaty, but declaring it “Peat” in the name means you best expect some serious fuminess. Like the Bruichladdich Organic 2003 we covered a couple weeks back, this is a new variation to the Bruichladdich distillery. Pick it up for $65.
