When extreme sports go really extreme

Have you heard of Underwater Ice Hockey before? Are you telling me there’s a bunch of dudes out there in Finland and Austria playing ice hockey under the ice? WTF? Not only do they play upside down, with sticks, in freezing cold Arctic water, but they do it without oxygen masks. I repeat: WTF?! Sure there are other people claiming to play “underwater hockey”, but those half-assed fops are doing it suitless in palm-tree lined pools, without sticks. Pussies. These Polar Bears (referring to guys who voluntarily swim in freezing water) are the real deal, and have to take breaks every 30 seconds or so to resurface so they don’t drown. Now that’s what I call an extreme sport. Although hardly popular, the first Underwater Ice Hockey World Cup was held in Weissensee, Austria in February 2007. For the record, the Finnish won…
