The world’s largest tuner of Volkswagen vehicles, ABT Sportsline, has just unveiled their tuned up remix of the brand spanking new Beetle. The ABT Sportsline Beetle, or Speedle, will come in a variety of levels based on the various standard Beetles: the 1.2 TSI (with standard 105 HP) will be increased to around 140 HP, while the 1.4 TSI (standard 160 HP) will be bumped up all the way to 210 HP. The two-liter turbo VW, which comes with 200 HP standard, will also be re-tuned to to a very healthy 240 HP. The diesel versions of the Beetle will be more economically-conscious Speedles: the 1.6 liter diesel engine will provide 125 HP (instead of 105 HP), and the 2.0 TDI will have 170 HP — a big bump from its 140 HP. The Sportsline Speedles will also feature ABT Performance Springs, 19″ alloy wheels and high-performance tires to guarantee a nimble and sticky driving experience. But you can’t hide the performance — you gotta make sure you’re scaring the neighbors if you’re going to invest in pumping your Beetle full of steroids. So ABT is fitting the Speedle with a front spoiler, side skirts, rear skirt insert and rear diffuser with modified muffler and oval exhaust pipes. The Volkswagen will also be lowered, given a custom paint job and fitted with front and rear headlight brows, giving the low slung Speedle s bit of sinister to their smile. The ABT Sportsline Beetles are currently undergoing extensive testing, so exact performance data will be supplied later.
