Racetrack-worthy supercar based on Blancpain racing series

While all attention is naturally on the gamechanging Aventodor at present (my god what a car), Lamborghini doesn’t want you to forget about its cash cow Gallardo — the best selling Lambo of all time. Its brand new LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is the most extreme Gallardo ever — a special edition vehicle based on the race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the world’s fastest single-make series. In the Blancpain series amateur gentlemen racers duel it out in modified Gallardos, and these racetrack worthy Lamborghinis are the base for the Super Trofeo Stradale. Although the engines are the same V10, other modifications — like an enormous manually variable rear spoiler and removable carbon composite engine hood with quick-release — and copious aluminum slim down the Super Trofeo Stradale to a svelte 2950 lbs (1,340 kgs). Matched with its V10’s 570 horses, the LP 570-4 is able to chart a blazing 0-62 click of 3.4 seconds. The Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale also sports a brand new proprietary lipstick red “Rosso Mars” finish, and will only be produced in a limited run of 150 numbered vehicles. Good to know Sant’Agata’s not completely forgetting its true workhorse…
