A hip-hop tweaked re-invisioning of a classic 60's album

Boston producer Will C established himself first as a talented engineer, mastering hundreds of releases from hip hop artists such as MF DOOM, The Pharcyde and Madlib to jazz, soul and R&B greats like Tom Scott, George Benson and Patrick Adams. He now turns his attention to an often-times tragically slept on American band, The Beach Boys. While known mostly for their pop hits, the Beach Boys were an incredibly revolutionary band who The Beatles themselves credit as major influences to their psychedelic sound. Brian Wilson, the visionary behind the band, is nothing less than a genius, and Will C captures a lot of this genius — and egomania, paranoia and drug inducement — via well manipulated samples and interview snippets throughout the 20-track mix. If you like The Beach Boys, or just want a refresher on one of the most seminal albums of the 60s, download Adieu Or Die for free and/or stream the mixtape below…
