We’re very excited (read: geeking out) that our friends over at The Loyal Subjects have scored one of their bigger collaborations to date: a whole new series of apparel, toys and as-yet-unseen items featuring the one and only Transformers. But don’t worry — we’re not talking about the updated, hyper-detailed characters from the billion dollar movie franchise. No, these will be based on the classic toys from our days of hazy youth: the awesome, blocky Transformers: Generation 1 figures. First up in the collaboration is a tshirt collection with toy-like chibi characters illustrated by designer Les Shettkoe. The t-shirts feature 8 iconic Transformers characters in a “blue print” type outline — Optimus Prime and Megatron will highlight the collection naturally, along with other fundamental Autobots and Decepticons like Soundwave, Bumblebee, Jazz, Grimlock, Starscam, and Thunder Cracker. Wear them depending on your mood that day, or get a friend to wear one and battle in public places. For noobs, the character name plates and “The Loyal Subjects x Transformers” collaboration detail will be sitting under the right foot of each character.
