HBO is releasing a documentary on The Rolling Stones on November 15th, a film that promises to shed new light on one of the most notorious rock and roll bands of all time. Directed by Brett Morgen, who previously crafted the Robert Evans documentary The Kid Stays In the Picture, the feature length Crossfire Hurricane provides a new perspective on the Stones’ journey from blues-obsessed teenagers in the early 60’s to rock royalty. Featuring never-before-seen footage and fresh insights from the band themselves, the doc promises to enlighten long time fans as well as entice a younger generation who might just barely be aware of the band’s complex, troubled history. From the Marquee Club to Hyde Park, from the infamous riot at Altamont to Exile on Main St., from club gigs to stadium extravaganzas, Crossfire Hurricane should be a must-see for those who care to learn more about one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
