Handbuilt V8 engine with 0-60 MPH In just 3.9-secs

We were in Hamburg, Germany when Mercedes-Benz unveiled its luxury flagship, the S-Class Sedan — which was labeled the most technologically advanced sedan ever built. Fireworks, an Airubs 380, Alicia Keys performing with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra… it was pretty clear Benz was pulling out all the stops for what it considers the shining jewel of its Tristar crown. Well now the German automaker unveils the AMG reboot of the S-Class, the 2014 S63 AMG 4MATIC. The car will be unveiled officially at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and as it is a 4MATIC we know it will feature an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. AMG has taken the pedestrian Benz’s 5.5-liter V8 engine and handbuilt a beast with direct injection and twin turbochargers that boost the car’s output to 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque (that’s up from 536 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque). The car will also shed 220 pounds via the copious use of aluminum. With enough power to offer 186 mph, the giant rolling luxury barge will still click a 0-60 mile per hour time of just 3.9 seconds, a ludicrous speed for a sedan of its size. No word yet on mileage or cost, but the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC will be hitting showrooms as early as November of this year.
