Handmade by legendary 71-year old Japanese swordmaker
We’re long time fans of the people over at Best Made, who specialize in handcrafted goods that live up to their name (our favorite probably being the Axe & Axe Sling). Now they’ve teamed up with world renowned Japanese swordsmith/knifemaker Toshiki Nambu to craft a set of Jiro Ono-worthy kitchen knives. The 71-year old artisan has designed a set (Nakiri, Santoku, Petty, and Pairing) that unites white carbon steel blades with gorgeous magnolia wood handles. Renowned for their edge retention and superior balance, the blades were all handmade in Miki, Japan, a city whose ironware origins date all the way back to the 5th century. Pick them up from Best Made for $395.
