With every nation under the sun seemingly joining the epic Supercar Wars — including Poland’s Arrinera De Veno, India’s DC Design Avanti, Mexico’s Mastretta MXT, Spain’s Aspid GT-21 Invictus, etc — it was only a matter of time until America’s hat, aka Canada, got in on the action. The Quebec-based Felino Cars has unveiled its cB7 supercar, a carbon-fiber-loaded two-seater powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine that sends all 525 horses (at 6,300 rpm) to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional sequential gearbox. The vision of Quebec racing star Antoine Bessette, the cB7 mates incredible lightness (1,135 kg) with blinding torque (489 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm) and a perfect 50/50 weight balance, the results being a serious track car that hopes to also become street legal. If Felino can keep their stated starting base price of only $100,000, the cB7 could sell excellently… but that’s a big IF. Watch the video of Bessette taking out his slick, matte black creation on Montreal’s famed Circuit Gilles Villeneuve racetrack below…
