Last week MSTRKRFT filmed a video for “Bounce” with N.O.R.E. at the Roxy. They brought a bunch of indie dance contenders like Lazaro Casanova, Steve Aoki and LA Riots and basically had a bang up party. Shit was fun. Someone even brought a hipsterized decapitated head to throw around the audience, complete with stubble and bandana (sorry Anonymous Party Guy whose head I hit when I tossed it into the audience). Shit was random, but strangely hilarious. Although it was s video shoot, there was no stoppage of the music for the entire time, mostly just a bunch of kids going nuts. Oh, and N.O.R.E. basically rapping into a (mostly) dead mic. Only question is, where the hell was Al P? I’d seen him out late the night before at a surprise show at the Dim Mak night at Cinespace, so maybe he was recovering. But missing his own video? Bizarre.
