Thomas Bangalter helms highly narrative 3-minute lookbook

Many fashion labels try to stand out from the pack with “clever” lookbooks and films, but French label Co‘s film for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection is one of the best yet. Directed by one half of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter, the highly narrative 3-minute film stars French actress Elodie Bouchez (who also happens to be Bangalter’s wife) on location in Morocco and France, and apparently references The Hunger, Altered States and Death in Venice. Bangalter used vintage lenses for the shoot to give the film a 70s feel — including Stanley Kubrick’s filters from Barry Lyndon. Unsurprisingly for such a cinematic affair, the designers behind Co both originated from the film industry — Stephanie Danan was a producer and Justin Kern a screenwriter. Beautiful work.
