London’s disco mafia comes to lala land. Ready for some Shits & Giggles?

We’ve been lucky in LA to have had plenty of proper disco shows as of late, but we’re hella excited for London’s premier disco mavens, the Horse Meat crew. Since the launch in 2003 by DJs James Hillard and Jim Stanton, HMD’s famed London parties garnered an undisputed reputation for quality events with a disco-for-diggers playlist. Paying homage to NY’s legendary underground spots of the ’70s, such as David Mancuso’s Loft, their night attracts a crowd that’s gay, straight, disco heads and dancing queens. The club’s guest DJ roster includes Dimitri From Paris, Greg Wilson, James Murphy, Todd Terje, Rub ‘n’ Tug and The Idjut Boys. They know how to throw a damn good party. The guys are touring for the debut Horse Meat Disco compilation. Electro funk, Italo, rare gems and deep percussive peaks. Expect to get worked on the dancefloor.

Horse Meat Disco 2CD compilation is released August 4th on Strut. We’ve literally had it on repeat for months now. It’s that good. The album is also available as a 2LP set and digital format.

If you’re in LA don’t miss this Friday night action at Shits & Giggles. We’re not. Pre-sale tickets only $8. Get them now. Or at the door for $12.

Here’s a tune off the album:

I’ve heard about these guys from a few friends. I had no idea they are playing in LA. Sweet.
