The 600 horsepower/481 pound-feet of torque Godzilla

Nissan’s GT-R established its supercar pedigree on the famed (and deadly) corners of the Nürburgring, at one time holding the record for a lap time against cars four times its cost. Part of the reason the car earned its “Godzilla” namesake. It has since been eclipsed, but the folks at Nissan seem determined to reclaim the crown. And they have, with the new 2015 NISMO (Nissan’s racing division) edition GT-R. Featuring a 600 horsepower/481 pound-feet of torque V6, racing suspension, exclusive Dunlop tires, copious carbon fiber and improved aerodynamics the NISMO GT-R smashed the lap time record by clocking in at 7:26.7. No word yet on price, but perhaps more info will be forthcoming at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show.
