Dream Cars: Innovative Design,Visionary Ideas, an exhibit of automobile concepts noted for their imaginative, cutting-edge designs, will be showing at the High Art Museum of Atlanta from May 21-September 7, 2014. The exhibit will consist of 17 concept cars of both European and American design which date back to 1935 on up through the contemporary. Among these dream vehicles will be the Scarab (a 1936 proto-minivan), a 2001 BMW with a full-fabric exterior, and the Stratus HF Zero of 1970 which measures only 33 inches tall —just a few of the far-reaching ideas the imagination has mustered about cars. The exhibit will also include paper and model concepts, and a 160-page catalog which features photos, descriptions and writings on aerodynamics. Curated by legendary automotive journalist (and one helluva raconteur) Ken Gross, Dream Cars should be a destination for car lovers across America this summer, not just Atlantans, with adult entrance to the exhibition costing $20.
