This kid created the first motorized unicycle called the Uno…although its not really uni, cos its got 2 wheels side-by-side. Whatever, it’s still cool as hell. Using similar gyroscopic technology to that lazy-ass Segway “walker”, this electric vehicle has a top speed of 25mph (which apparently can be increased greatly with bigger motors), has a range of about 2.5 hours, and only weighs 120 lbs so its pretty easy to get around. It works like a Segway in that you lean forward to make it go, and lean back to stop. The wheels are completely independent, allowing the bike to turn on a dime.
Ben Gulak, the 18-year-old Ontario-born inventor (fuck, I’m not 100% sure but I think I was still playing D&D my senior year), came up with his personal green machine after visiting China and wanting to do omething to combat all the smog created by the country’s vast fleets of internal-combustion bikes.
