Los Angeles artist Carlos Ramos pays homage to the 11th anniversary of the death of the famed filmmaker

To mark the 11th anniversary of the death of filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, Los Angeles-based artist Carlos Ramos will exhibit his collection of paintings inspired by Kubrick’s best films. The exhibit, aptly titled Kubrick, opens this Saturday, July 10th, at the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica and will be on display until August 3rd. Ramos faces his longtime obsession with Kubrick by painting highly stylized interpretations of A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut and Spartacus. I particularly like the birdseye shot of Danny playing on the graphic carpet of the Overlook Hotel, as well as the Droogs in action from Clockwork Orange. Well worth a visit if you’re in the Los Angeles area.
