Last year we covered Hennessey’s V700 Cadillac CTS-V, and now the Texan modifier is adding its anabolic steroids to Cadillac’s headturning Coupe version of the CTS-V. And to keep things super special, Hennessey Performance is promising to produce only 12 examples of their v1000 for the market. Hennessey’s engineers have surgically fitted the CTS-V’s already potent 7.0 litre V8 with a pair of large turbochargers, added a litany of improved parts (forged pistons and connecting rods, new camshafts, high flow cylinder heads, an electronic boost controller, upgraded fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines and pump, air-to-air intercooler, high flow air filter, stainless steel sports exhaust, etc etc), and re-mapped the engine’s CPU to ensure smooth running between all the shiny new parts. The results are a reported 1,000 horsepower (@ 6,400 rpm), and 950 lb-ft of torque (@ 4,000 rpm), with a 0-60 click of 3.5 seconds on the way to a 230 mph top speed. These are Pagani Huayra supercar numbers underscoring the engineering prowess of the Hennessey team, who have also implemented massive Brembo carbon-ceramic 15.1 inch disc brakes to stop their petrol-guzzling behemoth. Visually the v1000 also gets a bulging CarbonAero widebody kit with a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, front fenders, vented hood and rear wheel arch extensions, 20″ monoblck wheels and a suspension which drops the already low CTS-V another full inch. One of the best American cars on the road, in the capable hands of Hennessey this highly limited edition CTS-V enters world class status… if all the mods don’t melt the engine to butter, that is…
