Perhaps to feed Japan’s seemingly insatiable hunger for all-black G550 SUVs, Mercedes-Benz has announced the production of a vehicle they’ve dubbed the “Night Edition”. Only 100 of these blacked-out versions of the G550 will be built and sold exclusively in Land of the Rising Sun later this spring. The “Night Edition” gleams with an obsidian black exterior and 5-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, while the inside is wrapped in a premium leather interior that will only be available in either Porcelain or Classic Red. The Mercedes-Benz “Night Edition” G550 will be hitting Japanese shores starting next Monday, April 22, for about $145,000 (¥13,900,000).
